TANZER :
2007 Domaine Hubert de Montille Pommard Les Rugiens
(100% vendange entier Good deep red. Knockout
nose combines musky red berries, iron, spices and minerals, with hints of
superripeness countered by strong notes of red soil.
Almost surprisingly sweet in the mouth, with pungent minerality framing and
intensifying the flavor and giving them a sappy urgency. Finishes impressively
long, vibrant and complex. Today this, the Taillepieds and the Mitans seem
every bit as good as the corresponding 2005s. (The Pezerolles was impossible to
rate in its reduced form following a very late malolactic fermentation that
only ended in September.)
